Systematic disposal is mandatory.
1. Waste Separation in Emergency

2. Waste Storage
- Trash can with lid: Waterproof, animal-proof (rats, cats)
- Trash bags: Robust, double, tie knots, take out daily
- Location: Outside house, wind-protected, not near window
- Odor: Sprinkle lime, sawdust, cat litter on organic waste
- Daily disposal: Don't store organic waste overnight in house
3. Burning (Emergency Waste Incineration)
- Location: Minimum 20m from house, wind-protected, not under branches
- Fire pit: Pit or old barrel, surrounded with stones
- Never in wind: Sparks flying! Never during drought/wildfire warning
- Only burnable items: No plastic (toxic fumes!), no batteries, no spray
- Extinguisher ready: Bucket of water, sand, soil
- Burn completely: Let ashes cool, then bury
4. Emergency Composting
- Pit: 1m deep, 1x1m, covered with earth/plate
- Only organic: Vegetable scraps, fruit peels, cardboard (unprinted), sawdust
- Never: Meat, fish, fats (attracts rats, stinks!), diseased plant material
- Carbon: For each layer of greens, add layer of browns (leaves, sawdust, earth)
- Duration: 6-12 months until usable humus
5. Checklist: Waste Disposal

- ☐ 2 trash cans with lids (organic, residual)
- ☐ Cat litter / lime / sawdust (odor neutralization)
- ☐ Gloves (disposable, 20 pieces)
